Steve Potash is President and Chief Executive Officer of OverDrive, a company he co-founded in 1986 with Loree Potash. He also serves on its Board of Directors. Under his leadership, OverDrive has become the leading digital reading platform for eBooks, audiobooks, and other digital media for over 92,000 libraries, schools, government agencies, corporate learning centers, colleges, and universities worldwide. He has pioneered many innovations for digital content use and applications. OverDrive has long-standing partnerships with thousands of librarians, as well publishers, authors, and media companies across the industry. As a mission-based company, OverDrive became a Certified B Corp in 2017 dedicated to “A World Enlightened by Reading.” 

Prior to starting OverDrive, and while practicing law, Steve served as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, served as an acting Municipal Judge, and authored technology columns for the American Bar Association Journal. He was admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court in 2019. Steve has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The Ohio State University and earned his J.D. at Cleveland State University College of Law.

Loree Potash is an academic librarian who held multiple positions at OverDrive before retiring. She is active in Northeast Ohio nonprofit organizations, and a board member for the Cuyahoga County Law Library Resources Board. Trained as a law librarian, she started her career at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, including serving as reference librarian, acting director and adjunct professor. She holds a master’s degree in library science from Case Western Reserve University and earned her J.D. at Cleveland State University College of Law.

Loree Potash

Erica Lazzaro is an attorney, community leader, and next-generation philanthropist whose work reflects a strong commitment to service, education, and family. A graduate of Cleveland State University College of Law, where she has been recognized among its distinguished alumni, Erica has built a career grounded in advocacy, leadership, and helping others navigate complex challenges. Her professional and civic involvement demonstrate a passion for strengthening institutions and creating opportunities for future generations.

Erica helps carry forward a family legacy of philanthropy focused on literacy, healthcare, community wellbeing, and Jewish communal life. Karen Estrovich is a respected leader in the library and digital reading space whose career has been dedicated to helping public libraries expand access to books, technology, and lifelong learning. In her leadership role with OverDrive, Karen works closely with library systems across North America to strengthen digital collections, improve reader engagement, and ensure communities have greater access to knowledge through modern library services. With decades of experience serving library partners, she has become a trusted advocate for the essential role libraries play in civic life.

Karen brings a practitioner’s lens to the Foundation’s work, shaped by decades of direct partnership with public libraries and the communities they serve. Her experience informs a deep understanding of how access to books, technology, and trusted public institutions can transform outcomes at the local level. Within the Foundation, she helps ensure that investments in libraries and literacy are both strategic and grounded in real-world impact.

Karen (Potash) Estrovich

Brian Potash is an education technology leader whose career has focused on helping schools connect students with books, digital learning tools, and opportunities to build lifelong reading habits. In leadership roles with OverDrive and its K–12 platform Sora, Brian has worked with educators and school systems to expand access to ebooks, audiobooks, and literacy resources that make reading more engaging and accessible for students. His work reflects a strong belief that technology can be a powerful force for educational equity and student success.
